PRESS RELEASE RENOLIT expands plant in Worms/Germany PVC film production growth of 15,000 tons a year Worms/Germany, 28 June 2006 – RENOLIT AG is enlarging its headquarter in Worms. In response to the continuing high demand for PVC films produced at the site, the company is building a 3,200 m2 manufacturing plant containing two additional calender lines including the entire technical equipment and infrastructure. On 26 June 2006, the ground-breaking ceremony took place in the presence of the mayor of Worms, Michael Kissel. RENOLIT’s headquarter currently employs 860 workers; the new investment of €8 million will create 30 new jobs. After the enlargement, annual production capacity at the Worms plant will grow by 15,000 tons to a total of 40,000 tons. The products manufactured here are to be predominantly used for exterior construction elements and the surface finishing of furniture, or processed into self-adhesive products. Commitment to German and European sites Expansion of its German sites is part of RENOLIT’s business strategy: “We are expanding our industrial production in Germany and at the same time extending our worldwide network,” says CEO Dr. Heinz Gärtner. Acquisitions of recent months attest to this strategy: The takeover of the Industrial Foils division of the Belgian SOLVAY Group was completed at the end of March this year; and on 31 May 2006, RENOLIT acquired the Chinese company Guangzhou TinsPlastics Co., Ltd. With these strategic steps the company intends to secure a solid position within the increasingly competitive Asian-Pacific region. At the moment, RENOLIT is modernising and expanding film production at its Spanish site in Estella with a capital expenditure of €24 million. The company RENOLIT AG is an international leader in the manufacture of high-quality plastic films and products. This independent family-run business, which has been setting benchmarks for quality and innovation for 60 years, now employs a workforce of approximately 4,000 employees at its 31 production sites and sales companies. The RENOLIT brand enjoys a worldwide reputation for technical expertise, modern product design and customer-orientated service.
