PRESS RELEASE Light and dark Trend colours are a hit Worms (Germany), 19 May 2006 – Next season’s trend colours were presented by RENOLIT AG at this year’s ZOW trade fair for the interiors industry. RENOLIT’s new and varied collection was a hit among fairgoers. Two of its solid colours have since become top sellers: the low-key Basalt and, at the other end of the spectrum, the peculiar Sulphur. Sulphur is an almost unnatural-looking, sulphurous yellow colour with a green accent. Used on its own, it gives kitchen fronts, exclusive shops or solitary furniture a truly idiosyncratic note. In combination with dark wood decor such as walnut, oak or Samoa teak, this stylish colour is truly invigorating. However, it should not be used excessively as it tends to dominate. Basalt, on the other hand, is one of the more neutral hues in the colour trend palette. This luscious dark grey tone contains a slight hint of red, softening its blackness. Basalt has different moods, making it an ideal colour for accentuating either reddish or very light woods. It sets light woods in stark relief, but has a more soothing effect in combination with reddish furniture. It is most suitable for kitchens, exclusive shops and up- market interiors. The sales success of both RENOLIT colours confirms the value of trends research on an international scale and its importance for tapping new market potential. Besides German clients, there is a lot of interest in the trend colours from Spanish and Italian furniture makers and designers as well as from numerous trend-setters in China and Turkey. "The trend towards solid colours is gaining momentum, especially in the kitchen interiors industry," says Monika Fecht, head designer at RENOLIT.
